On Friday, bask in the joyous sounds of some of the finest folk dances: Ginastera's Four Dances from Estancia, Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5 and more at at the STL Symphony Concert: Folk Dances: Brahms & BartĂłk at Powell Symphony Hall. You might want to check out the International Photography Collaborative: China Exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden on Friday too. A group of photographers documented both rural and urban life in China, and produced a poignant glimpse into the global powerhouse of business and art. The Craft Alliance Small Buildings Opening Reception is also something you'd maybe be interested in. This exhibition features 16 artists selected by jurors Buzz Spector and Bruce Lindsey, both professors at Washington University Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts.
On Saturday, 46th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and 37th Annual Michelob ULTRA St. Patrick's Day Parade Run. Enjoy the elaborate floats, marching bands, marching units, dance groups, animal units, novelty units, motorized units, and giant cartoon character helium-filled balloons as they fill the streets of St. Louis for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. You may prefer something a little more laid back, like a show by the Gateway Men's Chorus at the Edison Theatre. Band of Brothers will delight audiences with a show of empowering and uplifting music exploring the bonds and experiences that go beyond blood relation and romantic love. The beautiful children's story, The Little Prince will come to life at the COCA Theater Company. Or maybe you'd prefer to take the kids to The Magic House to meet the Easter Bunny and decorate eggs. You and your friends might enjoy some arts and crafts fun at Green with Indie at the Grant Gym at Webster University. It's St. Louis' largest indie arts and crafts show featuring the best in regional arts and crafts with an eco-friendly focus. After the craft fair, don't miss Brothers Lazarus "Unplugged" at the Kranzberg Arts Center, or you may prefer to see Echosmith performing at The Ready Room. Check out the King Khan & BBQ Show at Blueberry Hill. King Khan and Mark Sultan (a.k.a. "BBQ") are touring in promotion of their new release, Bad News Boys.
Sunday might be a good day to see the magical Phantom of the Opera performance at The Fox Theatre. You may also want to go to the St. Louis Art Museum afterwards to see the new exhibit, Navigating the West: George Caleb Bingham and the River. The exhibition showcases 22 Bingham paintings and 50 drawings and prints, and provides a long look at his mastery of what became known as the luminism painting style. To get you in the mood for spring, take a drive over to March Morpho Mania at the Butterfly House. Every day throughout March, you can see the giant, gorgeous, brilliantly blue morpho butterflies.
